Survivor 46 Stock Ticker: Episode One

By John Powell – Binge News

You couldn’t ask more from a two-hour premiere episode. We had scheming. We had bonding. We even had a smashed hour glass and this time it wasn’t that dastardly Erika Casupanan doing the smashing with her Donkey Kong hammer.

With three tribes, only six players on each tribe and less than a month to play the game, there is no place to hide, no time to fly under the radar. You’ve got to hit the ground running with this new era of Survivor.

The only issue I had with This is Where the Legends Are Made is that there was so much clowning around at camp and even worse so much at tribal council. These players need to take this game and voting someone out far more seriously. This is supposed to be a cutthroat competition for a million dollars, no matter what senile producer/host Jeff Probst blubbers to the media.

On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

I am not sure what game Jelinsky was playing but it wasn’t Survivor. He screwed up the journey by giving representatives from the OTHER tribes more power and he just flatly gave up on the Sweat Challenge. Whether he meant to or not he proved to his tribe that he didn’t have the heart or the will power to play the Survivor game…and he was a pretty shitty ally.

This episode it was all about Tiffany. Not only did she successfully complete the Beware Advantage challenge with Kenzie in tow but she seemed to be the sounding board, the rest of Nami was leaning on. She has quickly risen to become a power player even though voting someone off at tribal DOES matter when you only have six people on your tribe to begin with.

Over at Siga, Maria is the one everyone respects and everyone circles around. She also has an extra vote which makes her even more dangerous as a player.

Bhanu has proven to have a very strong social game at Yanu. It doesn’t mean he is long for the game. His over the top behaviour might eventually bother and piss off some but for now, he doesn’t have an enemy in the world.

A social butterfly, Kenzie is everywhere and with everyone. She must be gathering a cache of information that she could use in the game. She could become a very, very big threat going forward.

Not really singling out Moriah here but I am too lazy to make a new graphic featuring the Signa women. They have bonded and they have formed a strong alliance. Will it stand the test of time though?

People seem to trust him, confide in him and are willing to work with him. He is a strong presence at Yanu.

She is just not connecting at all with the others at Yanu and is seen as a weak link.

Venus and Soda are already aligning against him. Perhaps he shouldn’t have thrown someone under the bus so early on. Someone who could have become an ally?

Who’s next to go?

If you examine the dynamics of Signa, Tim is the lone wolf.

We didn’t see much of Nami but Randen might be flirting with an early exit.

Unless she can salvage her game she is next to go at Yanu.
