Survivor Stock Ticker: Episode 9

By John Powell – Binge News

The rats have begun to scurry. You would think that if your coalition had the numbers the easiest thing to do would be to knock off the rest of Gata one by one but new era players more often than not play scared so here we are with Sol being fed to the sharks this week. Kyle has won 3 of the last 6 immunity challenges but let’s target Sol.

It has got to suck though for ALL of your allies to just turn on you like that. That is what happens though when everyone gets twitchy, isn’t confident in their gameplay or their alliances and starts panicking this close to the end. Again, it is playing scared which New Era players do a lot.

Last night we saw a twist that fragmented the tribe. It is clearly another way for the producers to curtail Pagongings, to mix things up as much as possible, throw a spanner into the works. The problem with that is so many twists cause paranoia and that leads to nervous players. And also, your game becomes all about twists and advantages rather than basic gameplay.

It appears though that this week we may have gotten some clues as to where this season is heading, who has a better chance of winning and who might be taking a seat on that ever growing jury pool.

On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

Dude didn’t make a mistake or misstep at all. He just became a victim of everyone losing their minds. More than anything his social game and powers of persuasion put him on everyone’s radar, even his own allies.

Rachel’s edit is becoming more and more positive, more and more like the producers are building a case for her to win. She is being portrayed as that flexible player who evolves with the tribal politics and is actually ahead of the curve in many respects.

A major reveal about Sue is when she was described as being “very insulated” in the game which means she is in a protected position. She has a very strong social game with allies who, unlike Sol, won’t and cannot turn on her. That kind of positioning could very well carry her to the end of the game.

By making such big moves she is really exposing herself. I would assume she is slowly but surely rising on everyone’s hit list.

This episode further instilled the notion that he is a wanted man. He escaped by the skin of his teeth this time but probably like Sol he will soon be abandoned by his own allies as they maneuver away from him.

You can bet they haven’t forgotten about Kyle either. He has won too many immunity challenges to fade into the background.

Who’s next to go?

Gabe and Kyle are still a massive threats but if the tribe cannot get them they might take out the glue which holds Tuku together and that would be Caroline.
