And yet another tribe is in trouble under the New Era format of Survivor. The Kele Tribe has lost every single challenge thus far and I would gather they are about to lost plenty more. None of them have proven to be any kind of challenge beast. Jake is all muscle but no skill. Challenges don’t seem to be Sophi’s or Jeremiah’s forte. Alex is their only hope but one person cannot carry an entire tribe on their back unless your name is Rupert Boneham.
I have a sneaky suspicion that we might have a tribal switcheroo in the next few weeks. Kele is just so overpowered and outplayed so far it would be the only way to stop that tribe from being Pagonged.
We also have another boot who claims their actual gameplay on the island wasn’t conveyed to the audience that well. You would think that with all that extra time this season the producers would be able to show even more of what led to someone’s demise but…here we are.
Kimberly “Annie” Davis told me: “I think what I mentioned a little earlier about the edits about why I was kind of by myself. I do wish that that had been part of the storyline because people are just probably screaming at their TVs like: Annie, what are you doing? You cannot wander out by yourself!
I was a little bit bummed that they didn’t show me spending endless hours building this shelter…It genuinely was a labor of love for me because I was trying to do something cool for our camp. Everybody’s tired, it’s hot, I’m just going to keep working at this thing until we get it. Not going to be the greatest shelter in the world because we don’t have a machete or anything else, but I’m going to do it.
I just kind of wish that some of that would have been portrayed more because I do feel like, in some ways, I got a little bit of the “old lady edit”. Oh, there she is dropping the piece of bamboo! There she is wandering around and laying in the shelter! She is drinking all of the coconut water! That was not an accurate portrayal of what was going on at camp.”
My written interview for Global TV is here.

If you want to know who the rumoured medevac is highlight the text in the brackets below and this is one of my boot picks this week:
[Jake]On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

She didn’t have a good a read on the tribe as she thought she did. A lot of her game hinged on Alex and he was locked in with Sophie and Jake.

I am getting the sense that Sophi is that Survivor snake who will slither right through or right around any walls that are crumbling down. The kind of devastation that will take out others around her. She will be left standing while others drop all around her.

Talk about slithering snakes, Alex has shifted and maneuvered well so far. Politics as a profession has served him well. Like Sophi he could keep bobbing and weaving his way through disaster.

He seems like the odd man out but if Rizo sticks with him, they might be able to make it to the merge together.

He has been exposed this week as on very shaky ground with the trio being as tight as they are.

Who’s next to go?
Kele

If push comes to shove, he is the odd person out with Jake, Alex and Sophi having a much stronger bond.
Uli

Savannah really is guiding that tribe. I can see her electing to keep Jawan over the chaotic Shannon.
Hina

He STILL doesn’t fit in. He’s an easy out.
