Survivor 50 – Week Two Stock Ticker

Did Pregaming Break Survivor 50?

It is the controversy that won’t go away. To pregame or not to pregame, that appears to be the question amongst the Survivor 50 players. Last week, Jenna denounced the practice as unfair and claimed it is what killed her chances at Cila. Her game was essentially over before it began.

This week, Survivor 49 winner Savannah told me that it is something that is just unavoidable.

“I think pregaming with a returning season, it’s going to happen, right? You have people who are vying for a million dollars. I don’t blame them. My biggest thing was in my break between seasons I was spending time with my loved ones. I was soaking all of that in,” she said.

“I should have been on my phone DMing all these Survivor players! That’s my biggest mistake! Pregaming doesn’t always look like, hey, we’re going to hop on a phone call and say we’re going to vote out so-and-so on day three, and then on day five we’re going to do this and have this plan. It can look like, hey, I know someone who’s going to be on this season. Just so you know, you can trust this person. I’m giving them my stamp of approval. That little ounce of trust goes such a long way in a game where trust is everything. So, it’s definitely hard and I think it also is telling that two of the people who went home very early, me and Jenna, we didn’t pregame at all. I’ll let people kind of make their conclusions from that,” she continued.

Her are my chats with Savannah:

Whether you agree with it as a fair game strategy or not, according to Jenna, the producers claimed if you are caught you will be disqualified and it could be the very reason we are seeing a tribe swap this week. While Savannah didn’t point fingers, Jenna accused Christian and Emily of forming an alliance and being friends before the season even started. If both Jenna and Savannah were kicking up a fuss about it while at Ponderosa and word got back to production, one wonders if that is why the switcheroo was ordered and perhaps why Jeff Probst’s podcast was shelved this season. Perhaps. Perhaps not.

No matter what they case or why we do have a swap and these are the rumoured members:

The new Cilia:

The new Kalo:

The new Vatu:

How does this swap, if true, shake out?

Cila has two original Cila (Cirie and Devens), three Calo (Jonathan, Kamilla and Dee) one Vatu (Rizo)

In this scenario, I can see the others rallying against Kamilla since she played as she did the last time around.

Kalo has three Kalo (Coach, Tiffany and Chrissy), three Vatu (Aubry, Genevieve and Colby) and one Cila (Joe).

Genevieve seems to be the clear choice for the same reason Kamilla will be targeted at Cila.

Vatu has three Vatu (Stephanie, Q and Angelina), three Cila (Christian, Emily and Ozzy) and one Kalo (Mike).

Mike and Q are the easy outs for Vatu.

Here is what we will see tonight:

“Did You Vote for a Swap?” – A foreboding treemail message leaves castaways hungry for information regarding an imminent change. Knowledge is power as the boomerang idols begin to rear their heads within tribes. Then, past mistakes and baggage haunt players in their quest for redemption.

On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

Like Jenna, Savannah wasn’t part of the pre-game alliance and therefore was expendable at Cila. She was the odd woman out when it came to the existing alliances.

His influence at Cila was undeniable but now that the tribes are swapped will he be able to win over his new tribemates?

She used her soft touch to push the vote away from Ozzy and also was given Ozzy’s extra vote without even asking for it.

Cilia just doesn’t get Joe’s style of gameplay. There are different ways to play the game for sure but becoming a bit volatile when the tribal politics aren’t moving in the way you would like them to be can be a very good reason to send someone to Ponderosa. If the tribe swap prediction is true Joe might have a second life in the game.

Since she was criticized so harshly for it last time around Chrissy has boosted her social game…to the point that her mothering is annoying people. If she cannot find the right balance she may be doomed.

Who’s next to go?

If the tribe swap rumour becomes reality:

Cila Tribe

It’s a matter of trust.

Vatu Tribe

He is too much of an X Factor for most people who need and want a predictable game.

Kalo Tribe

Like the other two, it comes down to having faith in someone’s actions and words.
