Survivor 50 – Week Three Stock Ticker

Pre-Game Bonds Continue to Shape the Season

For the third week in a row, a player has been sent home because they weren’t part of pre-season or pre-existing alliances. Quintavius “Q” Burdette was fed to the sharks by the new Vatu Tribe. Stephenie was the only vote for him to stay.

Like Savannah and Jenna before him, Q claimed that he was an outsider from the start. Although he didn’t specifically mention pregaming in his exit interviews has said:

Christian and Emily having a strong connection (“they play video games together…”) and that relationship spilled over into the game this season.

He spoke about three players from David vs. Goliath naturally not voting against each other.

He mentioned Mike White and Ozzy Lusth know each other outside of the game and that influenced things as well.

Q also mentioned something very interesting when speaking to Entertainment Weekly:

Dalton Ross: You said you knew about Aubry having an idol. I was wondering because sometimes things get shown out of order because they’re showing things at one beach before getting over to the other beach. When you guys did that bag search, did she already have the idol or not?

Q: Yeah, she already had it.

Dalton Ross: And that’s why she was carrying her bag around everywhere after she got it?

Q: Right. And Genevieve peeped it out where the first couple days, everybody left their bag in the same area. And then, all of a sudden, Aubry leaves camp with her bag and Genevieve had already found the Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol, so she kind of knew, Okay, this is kind of weird. She’s never done this. And then from that point forward, Aubry always just kind of kept her bag. And the one day that we did search, we were just coming back and maybe it was on her, but we knew she had it. Like, it was no doubt in our minds that Aubry had it and that’s what we were going with. And then to find out to confirm, Okay, she actually had it, it was like, Okay, we knew that information. So that’s why I was so surprised when Emily came to me, and again, it’s one of those things, you look back on it, I just don’t think I could have been in a more terrible spot than what I was in.

That is definitely a very interesting edit as in the broadcast played things out differently. The way things played out on TV is that Genevieve suspected Aubry had something and searched the bag BEFORE Aubry received the idol when in actual fact she already had it and the tribe knew she had something. One wonders why they decided on that time warp edit? Hmmm.

Another odd thing is during the last few weeks the broadcast has been airing in India before the episode is shown in North America revealing who gets voted out. I wonder how this week will pan out but…

Here is what we will see tonight:

“Knife to the Heart” – Castaways help pass the time on their beach by hosting the “SURVIVOR 50 Talent Show.” Another boomerang idol is discovered and players must decide whether to send it to an ally or an adversary. Then, the biggest reward of the season is on the line as tribes compete for immunity and a special afternoon with country music star and SURVIVOR superfan, Zac Brown, on SURVIVOR 50

On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

Q was the odd man out and his chaotic gameplay during a season where everyone is paranoid because so much is at stake couldn’t be permitted and tolerated.

Despite being so incredibly sloppy, Emily is the one who spun the game out of control this week while at the same time also focused everyone’s attention on the eventual target. Hey, stranger things have happened.

Mike did his fair share of finagling probably to save his own butt because he like Q doesn’t fit in well with this tribal dynamic.

Her messy gameplay worked in her favour this vote but she definitely upset some of her own allies, damaged the trust she has with them.

She may be right about some of her assumptions but she isn’t winning a lot of people over.

Who’s next to go?

Cila Tribe

The others just don’t have faith in her.

Vatu Tribe

When push comes to shove Mike doesn’t fit into anyone’s game or strategy going forward.

Kalo Tribe

The numbers are aligning against her.
