Survivor Stock Ticker

Survivor 50 – Week Five Stock Ticker

Historic Tribal Council Spoilers

The Survivor production crew film hours upon hours of footage every season in order to catch every important moment from gameplay and strategy to moments of friendship and camaraderie. Because there is only so much screen time we cannot see everything the editor, players or producers want us to see.

Survivor is a reality show. It is not documentary filmmaking. The producers and editors do take creative license with the footage presenting what they feel are the best storylines and portrayals for the show. This includes showing someone’s more negative moments and not including their positives because the producers see them as a villain, for example.

The cast signs-off on this when they sign off on their contracts. Every reality show contract has a clause which basically gives the producers complete ownership of your edit and image on the show. On shows like Big Brother, for example, you cannot change your appearance while on the show without the producers’ permission. Although at times it is over the top, the television series UnREAL did a pretty decent job of portraying how a reality show is produced behind the scenes. If you haven’t checked it out, you should. It is a fun show especially for those who enjoy The Bachelor and whatnot.

Every season of every reality show has cast members who are not pleased with their edit. Sometimes this is for completely egotistical reasons. Sometimes though the gripes are legit. There have been people whose portrayal borders on being completely fictional, fabricated by the producers.

Knowing that, there are rising complaints from the female players this season that the edit has been incredibly biased missing out on their moves, their moments.

Angelina told me last week:

I wish we could’ve shared that more with fans. It’s not even just my story. I’m super disappointed in the lack of seeing Tiffany, hearing from Kamilla, the negativity around Chrissy, not hearing her story. Where’s Dee? Where are the women? There are a lot of women contestants this season who are not happy with the way the show’s going. I hope they course-correct for us 12 who showed up and gave it all, as Jeff asked, and now I ask them to do better.

As an example, she mentioned Emily:

“Emily was very convincing. Emily’s not getting the credit she deserves. She had me believe in her. She was crying to me in the forest about how she wanted to play with me and felt most connected to me out of everyone. She’s really good.”

With Angelina’s public comments, Chrissy, who is her friend outside of the game, is also making her feelings known:

I am sure this isn’t the last we will hear of this along with the pregaming many did.

I also chatted with Charlie. He spoke about his current relationship with Rizo. You can check it out here: Charlie Davis Has Only Respect for Rival Rizo

Here is what we will see on this week’s episode:

“The Blood Moon” – A mysterious boat arrives delivering an exciting message, “Drop your buffs!” A mad dash ensues when castaways discover that an advantage is hidden deep in the jungle. This week’s mouthwatering challenge reward lifts spirits but only briefly. A true SURVIVOR first, the dreaded blood moon leads to a historic tribal council, on SURVIVOR 50.

On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

She was the odd-woman out with everyone working so closely together and knowing each other outside of the game itself.

It was either him or Rizo and Rizo outplayed him, pure and simple.

Like his attitude or not, Rizo’s Operation: Bad Blood worked like a charm. He put in a lot of work and got the result he wanted.

Coach’s social game is gaining him such traction but will it be enough to carve out a finale spot for him?

While he had every right to be pissed off that his ally and friend Mike was voted out and he wasn’t included in that vote Ozzy let his emotions get the best of him back at camp.

Below is a massive spoiler for tonight’s show. If you don’t want to know, don’t scroll down…

Who’s next to go?

The”Blood Moon” title and the previews mean the tribes will be divided into three groups before the actual merger. One person from each of those groups will be voted out at Tribal Council which is the reasoning for “A true SURVIVOR first, the dreaded blood moon leads to a historic tribal council.” The tribes are merged after this massive tribal and the jury begins next week. So, three people are being voted out tonight.
