The Dead will rise on Shudder next week.
Shinichiro Ueda’s modern cult classic One Cut of the Dead (Original Japanese title: ‘Kamera o tomeru na!’) will debut on Shudder nextTuesday, September 24th.
The indie hit was made for the ridiculous sum of $27,000 but has grossed $28 million in Japan and $30 million worldwide since its release.
Cut of the Dead tells the tale of a film crew shooting a zombie movie when a real zombie apocalypse begins. Delighted, the crew decides to keep on filming.
The film has won numerous awards including the Special Jury Prize at the Yokohama Film Festival, Best Director at the Mainichi Film Awards, Best Film at the Blue Ribbon Awards and Best Film Editing at the Japan Academy Prize.
