AMC Theatres launch streaming service

The streaming world just got a little more crowded.

Beginning tomorrow, AMC Stubs rewards program members will be able to rent or buy films through AMC Theatres On Demand. The selections will include new movies once they are available digitally.

“With more than 20 million AMC Stubs households, and with our web site and smartphone apps already being visited hundreds of millions of times annually by movie fans, AMC Theatres is in a unique position to promote specific movies with greater personalization than has ever been possible before, said Adam Aron, CEO and president of AMC Theatres.

Rentals will cost $5.99. Movies will be available through AMCTheatres.com, mobile app, Roku devices and SmartTVs. Viewers will have a month to begin watching their purchases and once viewing begins they have 48 hours to finish the film.
