Axel Foley is on the beat again.
Deadline reports that Netflix is partnering with Paramount to make and air the next sequel in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise.
Both Eddie Murphy and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are returning.
The franchise began in 1984 with the original action comedy starring Eddie Murphy as a devil-may-care Detroit police officer on the hunt for the killer of his childhood friend.
The film also starred Judge Reinhold and John Ashton.
The movie spawned two more sequels in 1987 and 1994.
A proposed television series had Brandon T. Jackson as Axel’s son but never saw the light of day.
