Star Wars fans are hoping that Obi-Wan’s quote of becoming stronger after being struck down will come to pass based on the recent news out of Disney.
Disney has hit the pause button on all work on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series while they go back to the drawing board with a new creative team. Writer Hossein Amini has left the show but Canadian director Deborah Chow is still on-board.
The show will tell Kenobi’s story after the fall of the Jedi and Kenobi goes into hiding, exile on Tatooine.
Star Ewan McGregor played down the situation at a Birds of Prey event.
“It just slipped to next year, that’s all,” he said. “Instead of shooting this August, they just want to start shooting in January, that’s all. It’s nothing more dramatic than that. It often happens in projects; they just wanted to push it to next year.”
It is also rumoured that the series has been reduced from six episodes to just four.
