Netflix has given the axe to two horror series.
Variety reports that both October Faction and V-Wars will not be returning after only one season each.
V-Wars starred Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder as Dr. Luther Swann whose best friend becomes a vampire. As the disease spreads, Swann races to find a cure. Many praised the series as a new take on the vampire genre.
October Faction was criticized as a monster hunter show without any monsters, not much action or special effects. Monster hunters Fred (J.C. MacKenzie) and Deloris Allen (Tamara Taylor) hide their identities as members of a covert syndicate while their teenage kids, Geoff (Gabriel Darku) and Viv (Aurora Burghart), are forced to live in a town trapped in the past.
Both shows were produced by the entertainment division of IDW Comics. Their third adaption – Locke & Key – has been picked up for a second season.
