HBO Max greenlights Selena Gomez cooking show

Actress Selena Gomez is about to get cooking on HBO Max.

HBO Max is teaming with Selena Gomez’s July Moon Productions for an unnamed 10 episode cooking series starring Gomez  as she makes delicious meals while stuck at home in quarantine.

Gomez will be also be producing the series. Gomez’s breakout role was as Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place. She moved on to star in such films as Princess Protection Program, Monte Carlo, The Dead Don’t Die and voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise. She has also served as s an executive producer of the Netflix television drama series 13 Reasons Why and the Netflix documentary series Living Undocumented. She is an accomplished recording artist, singer with six albums to her credit.

In the series, Gomez will be joined remotely by a different master chef. Together, they’ll tackle cuisines of every variety, share invaluable tips and tricks and deal with everything from smoking ovens to missing ingredients.

“I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen,” said Gomez.

The series will debut this summer on HBO Max.
