The producer who brought us Big Little Lies, Goliath, Ally McBeal and Chicago Hope is returning for a Netflix collaboration.
Netflix has revealed that David E. Kelley and Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards, The Americans) will be bringing the bestselling novel ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’ to the streamer.
Sarah Vaughan’s 2018 book is the story of a politician accused of rape by his researcher. The courtroom thriller, psychological drama is told from three perspectives: the accuser, the prosecutor and the accused’s wife.
On Vaughan’s official site, she describes the book as: “Sophie’s husband James is a loving husband and a charismatic government minister. Yet he stands accused of a terrible crime. Sophie is convinced he is innocent and desperate to protect her precious family from the lies that threaten to engulf him. She’s kept his darkest secret ever since they were first lovers, at Oxford. And if she stood by him then, she can do it now. Is James the victim of an unfortunate misunderstanding or the perpetrator of something sinister?”
The series will have six one-hour episodes. No release date has been announced.
