HBO to air pandemic comedy

Pandemic, politics and puns? Why not?

Produced entirely under lockdown and written about the lockdown in the United States, Coastal Elites will featuring an all-star cast playing characters from New York to Los Angeles coping with politics and the pandemic.

Playwright and screenwriter Paul Rudnick (“Addams Family Values,” “In & Out”) will write Coastal Elites and Jay Roach directs. Both serve as executive producers.

The series stars Bette Midler, Kaitlyn Dever, Dan Levy, Sarah Paulson and Issa Rae and is set to explore America’s “deeply divided politics and pursuit of a universal human connection through a series of confessionals from five main characters.”

Coastal Elites will air in September.
