HBO has renewed Perry Mason for a second season.
“Viewers have relished being transported back in time to 1930’s Los Angeles each week and we are thrilled to welcome the show back for a second season,” said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming.
Perry Mason debuted as HBO’s most-watched series premiere in nearly two years. The first episode has now been seen by 8-million viewers.
The series is pretty much ‘Perry Mason’ in name only. It stars Matthew Rhys as Mason who in this incarnation is not a lawyer debating cases in a court room as the original character was but a low-rent private investigator who is dogged by his war-time experiences and a failed marriage.
