The Netflix library is so vast sometimes many phenomenal programs get lost in the shuffle. Below is the best of the best of what Netflix has to offer. Depending on your taste and interests, the shows below may also strike a chord with you or not but there is no denying they are the most popular, successful series. Check back often for new additions to the list.

Bloodline	Thriller	Set in the Florida Keys, Bloodline centers on a close-knit family of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home.	The first season is the best season.
Sense8	Fantasy, Science Fiction.	Sense8 is about eight people connected all around the world who, after experiencing a violent vision, are able to see, feel, hear and talk to each other as if they are in the same place.	One of Netflix’s most unique series.
Stranger Things	Horror, Science Fiction.	A love letter to the ’80s classics, Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.	The best series Netflix has ever produced.
The Crown	Historical Drama	The Crown tells the inside story of two of the most famous addresses in the world — Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street – and the intrigues, love lives and machinations behind the great events that shaped the second half of the 20th century. Two houses, two courts, one Crown.	Surprising and intriguing.
A Series of Unfortunate Events	Mystery, Fantasy	Based on the internationally best-selling children’s novels by Daniel Handler, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events brings the books’ imaginative and utterly unforgettable universe.	Wacky fantasy fun that Harry Potter fans will adore.
Ozark	Crime Drama	Economic advisor Martin “Marty” Byrde suddenly relocates the to the summer resort community of Osage Beach after a money laundering scheme goes wrong and he must make amends to a Mexican drug cartel.	For The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy crowd.
Altered Carbon	Science Fiction	Society is transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent.	Blade Runnerish.
The Haunting of Hill House	Horror	A modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s legendary novel of the same name about five siblings who grew up in the most famous hauntedhouse in America. Now adults, they’re reunited by the suicide of their youngest sister, which forces them to finally confront the ghosts of their own pasts.	A satisfying slow burn.
The Umbrella Academy	Superhero, Action	On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world.	X-Men with even more personal drama.
Unbelievable	Drama, True Crime	When teenager Marie Adler (Kaitlyn Dever) files a police report claiming she’s been sexually assaulted by an intruder in her home, the investigating detectives, as well as the people closest to her, come to doubt the truth of her story. Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, detectives Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall meet while investigating an eerily similar pair of intruder rapes and partner to catch a potential serial rapist.	A story that has to be seen to be believed.
Criminal: UK	Crime, Mystery	Criminal is a police procedural with a unique premise: it takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite. This stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama will focus on the intense mental conflict between the police officer and the suspect in question.	A satisfying, quick binge.
V Wars	Horror	Dr. Luther Swann (Ian Somerhalder) enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps.	For fans of the Vampire Diaries and Being Human.
The Witcher	Fantasy	Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.	A bit confusing but makes more sense if you stick with it.
The Stranger	Thriller, mystery	A mysterious stranger tells a husband a secret that has a devastating impact on his perfect life.	Fantastic thriller.
Locke & Key	Horror, Fantasy	After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death.	The next Stranger Things.
Daredevil	Superhero, Action	Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.	The best comic book adaption to date.
The Punisher	Superhero, Action	Former marine Frank Castle becomes The Punisher and begins bringing his brand of justice to the criminal underworld.	Gritty and raw. Jon Bernthal is amazing in the lead role.
Master of None	Comedy	Follows the personal and professional lives of Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life.	Aziz Ansari generates the chuckles.
Love	Comedy	Gus and Mickey’s long, complicated and somewhat messy journey to finding love.	The characters become annoying, wear out their welcome in the third season.
Fuller House	Comedy	In the spinoff series, Fuller House, life can take you into unexpected directions and also back into familiar territory when veterinarian and recently widowed D.J. Tanner-Fuller finds herself living in her childhood home with younger sister and aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner and DJ’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler.	No Uncle Jesse?
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return	Comedy	Human test subject Jonah Heston (Jonah Ray) is imprisoned aboard the spacecraft Satellite of Love by mad scientists and their henchmen and is forced to watch a series of bad movies in order to find one that will drive the test subject insane. To keep his sanity, Joel built himself a series of sentient robots who all satirize the film being watched.	Also watch the original classic series on ShoutTV.
Girlboss	Comedy	The show is based on Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography #Girlboss which tells the story of how Amoruso started the company Nasty Gal while working as a campus safety host for San Francisco’s Academy of Art University.	You may not like the lead character but the journey is fascinating.
GLOW	Comedy, Drama	A struggling actress becomes a pro wrestler.	A decent portrayal of the wrestling business.
Atypical	Comedy, Drama	Atypical is a coming of age story that follows Sam (played by Keir Gilchrist), a 19-year-old on the autism spectrum as he searches for love and independence.	A quirky series, although some of the characters will get on your nerves as the series goes on.
Insatiable	Comedy, Drama	For years, Patty (Debby Ryan) has been ridiculed, ignored, and underestimated by those around her because of her weight. But now that she finds herself suddenly thin, Patty is out for payback against anyone who has ever made her feel bad about herself.	Weirdly wonderful.
Sex Education	Comedy, Drama	Otis Milburn tries to find love even though he is a socially awkward high school student who lives with his sex therapist mom.	Unapologetically raw and hilarious.
After Life	Comedy, Drama	Tony (Ricky Gervais) had a perfect life. But after his wife Lisa dies, Tony changes. After contemplating taking his own life, he decides instead to live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes from now on.	Funny, touching and inspiring, this is one of Netflix’s best shows.
Dead to Me	Drama	Jen (Christina Applegate) is a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder. Judy (Linda Cardellini) is an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret.	Exceptional thriller.
Mr. Iglesias	Comedy	Gabriel Iglesias plays a good-natured public high school teacher who works at his alma mater. He takes on teaching gifted but misfit kids.	Gabriel Iglesias, enough said.
Living with Yourself	Comedy, Drama	Miles (Paul Rudd) is a man struggling in life. When he undergoes a novel spa treatment that promises to make him a better person, he finds he’s been replaced by a new and improved version of himself.	Rudd’s performances are brilliant.
BoJack Horseman	Animated Comedy	Will Arnett voices BoJack, the failed legendary 90’s sitcom star from the favorite family sitcom  “Horsin’ Around,” who has been trying to find his way through a muddle of self-loathing, whisky and failed relationships.	Quirky, a riot.
Greenhouse Academy	Fantasy, Mystery	Greenhouse Academy is a live action, suspenseful drama series set in an elite boarding school in Southern California called “The Greenhouse.” Students are divided into two rival houses that must join forces to conquer challenges when an evil plot is uncovered.	Harry Potter fans this is for you.
Elite	Drama	Las Encinas, the best and most exclusive school in Spain where the elite send their children to study, is also where three working class kids have just been admitted after their academy was destroyed by an earthquake and the local council divided up the students between the different schools in the area. The clash between those who have everything and those who have nothing to lose creates the perfect storm.	If Riverdale is your jam.
Lilyhammer	Crime Drama, Comedy	Frank Tagliano (Steven Van Zandt), a former underboss in an American Mafia crime family, is placed in the Federal Witness Protection Program and moves to Lillehammer in Norway. Tagliano finds it is not easy to walk away from his mobster life or tendencies.	A Netflix classic.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency	Science Fiction, Mystery	Adapted from the popular novels by Douglas Adams (“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”) the series follows eccentric Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett) who claims to be a “holistic detective” as he investigates obscure cases based on the inter-connectivity of all things.	A zany classic.
Anne with an E	Drama	Inspired by the timeless Canadian novel ”Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery.	A Canadian classic, eh.
Alias Grace	Crime Drama	Follows Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon), a poor, young Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott (Kerr Logan), was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer and his housekeeper.	An incredible true story.
The End of the F***ing World	Comedy, Drama	A strange couple goes on a road trip in England and encounters all sorts of mayhem.	Crazy fun.
Giri/Haji	Crime Drama	A Tokyo detective travels to London to look for his long lost younger brother, now believed to be posing as a Yakuza gangster and wanted for the murder of a Japanese businessman. His family’s honour, and the fragile peace between the warring gangs back home, is at stake.	One of Netflix’s best crime shows.
Black Mirror	Horror, Science Fiction	An anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia	Some seasons, episodes are better than others.
Lovesick	Comedy, Drama	The loves and lives of a group of English friends.	The characters make the series.
Lucifer	Horror, Comedy, Mystery	Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.	Netflix picked up the series after it was dropped elsewhere.
You	Drama, Thriller	Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager, meets the girl of his dreams and becomes so infatuated with her that he begins stalking her.	Not for everyone but one of Netflix’s most popular series.
I Am Not Okay with This	Comedy	An irreverent origin story that follows a teenage girl who’s navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken deep within her.	A unique take on the superhero genre.

Virgin River	Romantic Drama	Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) returns to Virgin River and Doc’s clinic, realizing she must learn to come to terms with herself and her past before she can truly make this her home.	For those who are romantics at heart.
The Haunting of Bly Manor	Horror	The next chapter of The Haunting anthology series, set in 1980s England. After an au pair’s tragic death, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to care for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) who reside at Bly Manor with the estate’s chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve) and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (T’Nia Miller). But all is not as it seems at the manor, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed in this chilling gothic romance. At Bly Manor, dead doesn’t mean gone.	Thrills and chills.
The Queen’s Gambit	Drama	Is is a coming-of-age story that explores the true cost of genius. Abandoned and entrusted to a Kentucky orphanage in the late 1950s, a young Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy)  discovers an astonishing talent for chess while developing an addiction to tranquilizers provided by the state as a sedative for the children. Haunted by her personal demons and fueled by a cocktail of narcotics and obsession, Beth transforms into an impressively skilled and glamorous outcast while determined to conquer the traditional boundaries established in the male-dominated world of competitive chess.	You don’t have to know anything about chess to love this thoughtful drama.
Emily in Paris	Comedy Drama	Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.	Although it is not really grounded in any kind of reality, an amusing bubble gum series.
How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)	Dark Comedy	Three friends Moritz, Lenny and Dan want to figure out How to sell drugs online fast(er). Their business is growing exponentially and the trio can hardly keep up with the demand. But also their private lives are moving up a gear.	Quirky and also endearing.
Biohackers	Thriller	College freshman Mia enrols in Freiburg University’s prestigious medical school. Her interest in revolutionary biohacking-technology is not only limited to scientific interest: Her goal is to gain the trust of star lecturer Prof. Tanja Lorenz. Both women are connected by a dark secret. To shed light on the mysterious death of her brother, Mia enters a dangerous world of illegal genetic experiences. When she meets genius biologist Jasper and his brooding roommate Niklas, she is forced to decide between her principles and her feelings, between avenging her family and protecting her new friends.	Intense mystery with a dash of tech.
JU-ON: Origins	Horror	JU-ON: Origins” focuses on the beginning of the “curse” in the film franchise and gives a raw look at the chain of terror that befalls all of those who come into contact with the house.	Warning: There are some really, really gruesome scenes but for those who can handle the gore, a curious pre-cursor to the successful horror franchise.
The Minions of Midas	Thriller	Set in modern-day Madrid, the story is inspired by Jack London’s short story The Minions of Midas. Victor Genovés (Luis Tosar), an influential businessman, is blackmailed: if he doesn’t agree to pay a large sum of money, the self-styled Midas favorites will kill a person at random at a designated place and time and add a new victim periodically until they achieve their goal.	Trust is fleeting in this riveting thriller.
Dracula	Horror	From the creators of Sherlock comes a brand new take on the most famous vampire of them all.	Despite the creators really playing fast and loose with the story, some liked this series. Our review is here.
Money Heist	Crime Drama	Bank robbers get themselves into a heap of trouble.	The original that has spawned a slew of knock-off crime series. Brilliant and engrossing.
