Netflix is getting its own real life Crazy Rich Asians complete with crazy shopping sprees, lavish parties and lots, lots of personal drama.
The streamer has greenlighted Bling Empire, an eight episode reality series which will chronicle the trials and tribulations of Asian and Asian-American friends. The series was filmed in Beverly Hills and will debut on January 15th.
Netflix describes the series as: “While their days and nights are filled with fabulous parties and expensive shopping sprees, don’t let the glitz and glamour fool you. Between running multi-billion dollar businesses and traveling the world, these friends are as good at keeping secrets as they are at spilling them. And there is certainly no shortage of secrets.”
The series will star actor and model Kevin Kreider, social media influencer Jaime Xie, Kane Lim the son of a Singaporean billionaire, DJ Kim Lee, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery owners Dr. Gabriel Chiu and his wife Christine and hairstylist Guy Tang.
