Amazon and Netflix are warring over love.
Netflix has announced that showrunner Shonda Rhimes will producing Notes on Love for the streaming service. The first season will focus on the evolving institution of marriage.
Each episode of the series will be a self-contained story written by such Hollywood heavyweights as Norman Lear, Steve Martin, Diane Warren, Rhimes herself and others.
Amazon has its own episodic series – Modern Love – debuting on October 18th. It too is a romantic anthology with a star-studded cast including Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, John Slattery, Catherine Keener, Andy García and others.
Notes on Love will be Rhimes’ ninth Netflix show.
