A Netflix remake of the three-part British mini-series Unforgiven will star Academy Award Winner Sandra Bullock and will be directed by Systemsprenger director Nora Fingscheidt.
Academy Award Winner Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) will take on the writing duties.
Netflix describes the unnamed series as “Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater (Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”
The original 2009 series was broadcast by ITV in Britain and was BAFTA Award-nominated. It starred Suranne Jonesm, Peter Davison and Emily Beecham.
