Survivor 50 – Week Seven Stock Ticker

Targets, Targets Everywhere

That’s what we call in baseball an “easy out”. Sending Coach off to Ponderosa last week was pretty much a no-brainer. Since Coach couldn’t vote, only Jonathan and Crissy voted for Aubry and Rick and Emily and Rizo. Everyone else voted for Coach and Chrissy. Chrissy was really just a bonus. Collateral damage, if you will. She wasn’t the big target.

Coach admitted to me that he made many mistakes:

Yeah, I played a great game, you know, for about 14 days. (laughs) Then, the idiocy of people saying, “We will not split the votes. Let’s put all 12 votes on Dee” was just preposterous to me. When we’re backed into a corner, anger is a secondary emotion, right? So, I was rooted in fear that I was going to get voted off, that there was going to be a shot in the dark played, it was going to hit, and I had a one-in-six chance of going home. So it clouded my judgment and made me act like the Dragon Slayer of old but now I’m a happy guy. I’m back to the old Coach.

From what I can tell the game has gotten to that point where the big targets and the players people just cannot trust are going to get booted, alliances or no alliances. With so many returning players in the mix this post-merge will play out a little differently than those in the past. There is far more paranoia and fear than usual. Why? Because it is Season 50 and there is a lot at stake. So, those the majority are antsy about, friend or foe, are going to be targeted. Does that mean the meek, those who are flying under the radar will wind there way to the end? We will have to see.

Here is what we will see on this week’s episode:

“I Deserve All of This” – After losing two alliance members, castaways spend the next day picking up the pieces of their broken alliance. The castaways face off against a surprise challenger during this week’s individual immunity competition. Then, upon their return to camp, the journey participant must read aloud an important announcement regarding their recent adventure.

Jonathan Young was the odd man out during the vote. He has to make a move to pivot his game. This will be a very crucial part of his journey. I suspect like Rizo, he may leave his former allies twisting in the wind as their ship begins to sink. Will he find a home though? Stephenie and Joe are also in a bit of a pickle as well. This week will be a true test of their Surivor skills? These are the people who are “picking up the pieces of their broken alliance.”

Who is the “surprise challenger”? My bet? This guy:

On with this week’s Survivor Stock Ticker:

People were just weary of the Coach persona and him bossing them around, even if he had a point or two.

Two for the price of one was the deal on offer. Chrissy has the same issues as Coach. She just tried too hard and that made her chaotic and untrustworthy in a Season 50 environment.

Cirie rallied the troops again but in doing is really a drawing a lot of attention to herself.

Joe put in a lot of work as well. As the numbers dwindle he is starting to raise his voice more than before.

Yes, they pulled off a fun, flashy move that saved their hides for one Tribal Council…but…they have also made themselves into big, public targets.

Who’s next to go?

He is just too dangerous to keep around as last episode proved.
